Manually operate the joint through its full range of motion.

Listen for any unusual sounds that might indicate improper belt tension.

Check that the belt tracks properly and doesn't come off the pulleys.

Verify that the belt teeth are properly engaged with both pulleys.

Test that the output shaft rotates smoothly without binding.

Confirm that there is no excessive play in the system.
